NORDIC® DXTF Series - Direct Expansion Triple Function

DX Series heat pump is unique in the geothermal industry, as it eliminates the plastic pipe secondary heat exchanger normally found in conventional systems. Heat exchange is carried out by introducing liquid refrigerant via copper tubing buried directly in the earth. DX series is available in all NORDIC premium geothermal heat pump variations: DX (DX-to-air), DXW (DX-to-water), DXTF (triple function), and DXS (DX-to-air split). Reduced temperature difference between the earth and the refrigerant circuit provides increased system capacity, resulting in a higher suction pressure and increased output. DX systems feature a reversing valve for both heating and cooling, and a desuperheater for domestic hot water production. One electronic expansion valve per loop with centralized electronic controller provides precise superheat control even with multiple refrigerant circuits in the ground.

The DXTF-Series unit is a high efficiency two stage direct expansion triple function heat pump with R410a refrigerant.The DXTF unit can provide air heating, air cooling, domestic hot water and hydronic heating. Direct expansion units require less “loop” per ton and are more efficient than conventional ground loop systems. An electrically commutated (ECM) fan with several speed options is standard. The motor has a soft start function for improved efficiency and reduced wear. The unit has several key features that are described in the specifications document for the particular heat pump.
