Heat Pump Installation

Geothermal heat pumps make great HVAC systems in New England, but they aren’t a good project for your average DIYer. Installing a geothermal system requires a variety of skills including excavation (for the energy supply source), plumbing knowledge, refrigeration expertise and electrical know-how. It’s important to have a solid skill set in all of these areas because an incorrectly installed geothermal heat pump won’t provide enough heat for your home.

Ok, now that we’ve convinced you that you need to hire a professional for your geothermal installation, where should you look for heat pump installers in New England?

Finding New England Heat Pump Installers Through IGSHPA

The first place you should look for a qualified and experienced heat pump installer is at the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA). IGSHPA is the leading professional accreditation body for geothermal installers in the United States. They offer industry standard training programs, so if your installer is IGSHPA certified, you can be sure they know what they’re doing.

To find an IGSHPA certified installer in your area, check out their website. You can search their member directory for accredited installers by state.

Finding A Geothermal Heat Pump Installer Through NEGPA

Another organization you can use to find an experienced installer is the New England Geothermal Professionals Association. This association is specifically for geothermal heat pump installers in the New England area and lists installers by their accreditation.

Use Our Find A Dealer Tool

You can also use our find a dealer tool on our website to locate an experienced geothermal heat pump installer that works specifically with Nordic heat pumps. We thoroughly vet our installers before we begin our relationship with them, so you can be assured that they do only the best quality work.

Two good options for Nordic heat pump installers in New England are: Geothermal Energy Options and Geothermal Maine. You can find Geothermal Energy Options in Lagrangeville, New York. This company specializes in both new construction and renovation projects, as well as commercial buildings. Geothermal Energy Options is also IGSHPA certified.

Located in Monticello, Maine, Geothermal Maine has been in the geothermal business for many years. Geothermal Maine is a 3rd generation business run by the Watson family. This company has experience with geothermal retrofits and new construction installations.

It’s important to do your research when choosing a New England heat pump installer, but we hope these resources will make your search easier. Once you’ve decided on an installer, make sure to ask the four questions we recommend to ask every installer and do your due diligence before moving ahead with the installation. This research will ensure you end up with a geothermal installation you’re happy with for decades to come.
