At Maritime Geothermal Ltd., our mission is to provide high-performance, sustainable heating and cooling solutions tailored to Canada’s climate. Today, we are proud to share a significant milestone in that journey: a $1.64 million investment from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA).
This funding is a vote of confidence in our team, our technology, and New Brunswick’s manufacturing sector. While our community has watched our Petitcodiac facility expand over the past year, this investment is the engine behind that growth. It enables us to scale our operations, refine our processes, and meet the demand for energy-efficient HVAC solutions.
Strengthening the Atlantic Housing Supply Chain
The timing of this investment is critical. The Canadian housing market is facing pressure to build faster and sustainably. There is a critical need for reliable supply chains. By scaling production of our NORDIC® geothermal and air-source heat pumps, we provide builders nationwide with the products they need to complete projects without delays associated with imported equipment. Whether it’s a homeowner converting to an air-to-water heat pump or a building operator choosing a commercial geothermal heat pump over traditional fossil fuels, every heat pump we make helps enhance Canada’s building stock.
Jared Kaye, General Manager of Maritime Geothermal Ltd., highlights the broader impact of this funding:
“This expansion is about more than just square footage. It’s about responding to the urgent need for faster, more sustainable home construction. By scaling our manufacturing, we are helping builders complete projects more quickly. We’re also ensuring that the Atlantic Canadian housing market has a reliable, local source for high-performance HVAC systems.”
Driving Economic and Environmental Impact
For over 40 years, Maritime Geothermal has been a cornerstone of the local economy. This $1.64 million investment allows us to continue that legacy by creating new jobs in rural New Brunswick. Through this expansion, we’ll also foster specialized skills within the local workforce.
Beyond the economic benefits, the environmental impact of scaling heat pump production is profound. By making these systems more accessible, we are directly contributing to Canada’s transition to a net-zero future.
Looking Ahead at Maritime Geothermal’s ACOA Funding
The 15,000-square-foot expansion supported by this funding brings our total footprint to 45,000 square feet. This new space will soon be utilized to house advanced manufacturing equipment and streamlined assembly lines, all dedicated to the NORDIC® brand.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to ACOA and the Government of Canada for their support. This partnership ensures that Maritime Geothermal remains at the forefront of the clean technology sector, proving that world-class innovation can—and does—happen right here in Atlantic Canada.
